【July 31, 2019】 Fourth Steering Committee Meeting for China-Japan Joint Laboratory at IMCAS

The fourth steering committee meeting of China-Japan Joint Laboratory was held at the Institute of Microbiology (IM), Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was attended by Prof. Yuji Yamanashi (Dean of IMSUT), Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Project Prof. Mitsue Hayashi, Project Associate Prof. Takaomi Ishida and Project Senior Assistant Prof. Jin Gohda from IMSUT, Tokyo, and Prof. Wei Qian (Acting Director-General of IM), Associate Professor Kaixia Mi (Principal Investigator), Prof. Huaiyi Yang (Director, Division of Science and Technology), Ms. Xiaojing Sun (Vice Director, Division of Science and Technology) and Ms. Wei Li (Staff, Division of Science and Technology) from IM, Beijing. After the greetings from both sides, the record of the previous SCM was approved by all the SC members. And Project Associate Prof. T. Ishida delivered his progress report. The research collaboration was appreciated by the SC members on both sides, with some comments expecting its further progress in future.

The fourth steering committee meeting of China-Japan Joint Laboratory was held at the Institute of Biophysics (IBP), Chinese Academy of Sciences. It was attended by Prof. Yuji Yamanashi (Dean of IMSUT), Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Project Prof. Zene Matsuda and Project Prof. Mitsue Hayashi from IMSUT, Tokyo, and Prof. Ruiming Xu (Director-General of IBP), Dr. Hang Xu (Director, Division of Science and Technology), Prof. Zhihai Qin (Project Advisor), Ms. Xin Zhang (Staff, Division of Science and Technology) from IBP, Beijing. After the greetings from both sides, the record of the previous SCM was approved by all the SC members. And Project Prof. Z. Matsuda and Z. Qin delivered their respective progress reports. The success of research collaboration was highly appreciated, with some comments, by the SC members.

【May 16, 2018】 Third Steering Committee Meeting for China-Japan Joint Laboratory at IBPCAS

The Third Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) for China-Japan Joint Laboratory of IBPCAS (Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and IMSUT (Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo) was held at Special Conference Room 1 of IMSUT. It was attended by Prof. Ruiming Xu (new Director-General of IBP) and Dr. Hang Xu (Director, Office of Research & Technology Administration) from IBP, Beijing; and Prof. Yoshinori Murakami (Dean of IMSUT), Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Vice Dean and Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Project Prof. Zene Matsuda, Project Prof. Mitsue Hayashi, Visiting Prof. Kunito Yoshiike and Ms. Kiyomi Nakagawa (Staff of IMSUT) from IMSUT, Tokyo. After the record of the previous SCM was approved by all the SC members, Project Prof. Z. Matsuda reported the research progress of the previous year. Also, Prof. Y. Kawaguchi mentioned that IMSUT would apply for International Joint Usage / Research Center, a new program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan. Prof. R. Xu was asked to support IMSUT’s application; he agreed to this request. Besides the meeting the people from IBP made a short tour of IMSUT facilities: Medical Science Museum and BioBank Japan (Human Tissue Bank).

The Third Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of China-Japan Joint Laboratory between IM (Institute of Microbiology), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and IMSUT (Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo) was held at Meeting Room A-201, IM, in Beijing on 24 April 2018. It was attended by Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Vice Dean and Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Project Prof. Mitsue Hayashi, Project Associate Prof. Takaomi Ishida and Project Senior Assistant Prof. Jin Gohda from IMSUT, Tokyo, and Prof. Shuang-Jiang Liu (Director-General of IM), Prof. Hua Xian (Deputy Director-General of IM), Associate Professor Kaixia Mi (Principal Investigator) and Ms. Wei Li (Staff, Division of Science and Technology) from IM, Beijing. Prof. Hua Xian was introduced as new Deputy Director-General of IM, and then the record of the previous SCM was approved by all the SC members. At the meeting Dr. T. Ishida and Dr. K. Mi reported their research progress in the previous year. Their research collaboration was highly appreciated by both sides, with comments expecting further progress in future.

The Second Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of China-Japan Joint Laboratory between IM (Institute of Microbiology), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and IMSUT (Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo) was held at Meeting Room A-201, IM in Beijing on 14 April 2017. It was attended by Prof. Yoshinori Murakami (Dean of IMSUT), Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Vice Dean and Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Project Prof. Mitsue Hayashi, Project Associate Prof. Takaomi Ishida and Project Senior Assistant Professor Jin Gohda from IMSUT, Tokyo, and Professor Shuang-Jiang Liu (Director-General of IM), Professor Xiuzhu Dong (Deputy Director-General of IM), Associate Professor Kaixia Mi (Principal Investigator) and Wei Li (Staff, Division of Science and Technology) from IM, Beijing. After the record of the previous SCM was approved by all the SC members, Project Prof. Ishida and Associate Prof. Mi reported the progress in the previous year. The meeting was a great success, remarked by both sides on their successful research collaboration and on the CAS-IMSUT workshop held at IBP (Institute of Biophysics), Chinese Academy of Sciences, on the previous day.

The Second Steering Committee Meeting (SCM) of China-Japan Joint Laboratory between IBP (Institute of Biophysics), Chinese Academy of Sciences, and IMSUT (Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo) was held at Meeting Room 61002, IBP in Beijing on 13 April 2017. It was attended by Prof. Yoshinori Murakami (Dean of IMSUT), Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Vice Dean and Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Project Prof. Zene Matsuda, Project Prof. Mitsue Hayashi and Ms. Noriko Endo (Staff of IMSUT) from IMSUT, Tokyo; and Professor Ruiming Xu (Deputy Director-General of IBP), Professor Zhihai Qin (Project Adviser), Hang Xu (Director, Division of Science and Technology) and Xin Zhang (Staff, Division of Science and Technology) from IBP, Beijing. After the record of the previous SCM was approved by all the SC members, Prof. Matsuda reported the progress in the previous year. The meeting was conducted in a friendly atmosphere, with comments from both sides on their successful research collaboration.

【April 27, 2016】First Steering Committee Meeting of China-Japan Joint Laboratory in IBP

The first steering committee meeting of China-Japan Joint Laboratory was held at the Institute of Biophysics (IBP), Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended by Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Deputy Dean of IMSUT and Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Visiting Professor Kunito Yoshiike, Project Professor Zene Matsuda and Project Professor Mitsue Hayashi from IMSUT, Tokyo. There, Professor Tao Xu (Director-General of IBP) and Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Deputy Dean of IMSUT and Project Director) discussed issues about how future research collaboration should be managed and promoted. Unfortunately, Prof. Murakami (Dean of IMSUT) was unable to attend the meeting due to his schedule conflict, but on his behalf Prof. Kawaguchi read Dean’s message to the meeting.

The first steering committee meeting of China-Japan Joint Laboratory was held at the Institute of Microbiology (IM), Chinese Academy of Sciences, attended by Prof. Yasushi Kawaguchi (Deputy Dean of IMSUT and Project Director), Prof. Jun-ichiro Inoue (Chief of China-Japan Joint Laboratories in Beijing), Visiting Professor Kunito Yoshiike, Project Associate Professor Takaomi Ishida and Project Professor Mitsue Hayashi from IMSUT, Tokyo. After Prof. Shuang Jiang Liu (Director-General of IM) had made welcoming remarks, Dr. Kawaguchi, on behalf of Prof. Murakami (Dean of IMSUT), expressed his gratitude to them for attending the meeting and supporting collaborative research. The details of the ongoing project and the current status of China-Japan collaboration at IM were shared among the attendees, discussing issues about how future research collaboration should be managed and promoted.
