【October 9, 2018】IMSUT-CAS Workshop on Infectious Diseases 2018

On 9 October 2018, IMSUT-CAS Workshop on Infectious Diseases 2018 was held at Large Lecture Room of the 2nd Building, IMSUT (Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo), on the occasion of accepting 12 young researchers including 3 PIs from the CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences), supported by the Sakura Science Plan (Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science) of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). Workshop speakers were: Professor Yasushi Kawaguchi (Project Director and Vice Dean of IMSUT), Associate Professors Masaki Imai and Kei Sato from IMSUT, Professors Yi Shi, Cuihua Liu and Jun Wang from CAS, China. Speakers presented their recent findings on emerging and reemerging infectious diseases caused by herpes viruses, mosquito-borne viruses, influenza viruses, HIV or tubercle bacillus. There was a large audience including IMSUT’s young researchers, who exchanged lively discussions with the participants.

【April 13, 2017】 CAS-IMSUT Workshop on Infectious Diseases

CAS-IMSUT Workshop on Infectious Diseases was held at the Institute of Biophysics, CAS (Chinese Academy of Sciences) on 13 April 2017. Speakers were: scientists from the IMSUT (Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo); Japan’s National Institute of Infectious Diseases; CAS’s Institute of Biophysics and Institute of Microbiology; Tsinghua University, Beijing. They presented their recent findings about infectious diseases, which were subjected to discussion among the participants. The workshop was followed by a reception dinner, where the participants exchanged information and their views to promote their cooperation.
